Well Child Visit and Immunization Schedule 6yrs - College

We follow the recommendations of the American Academy of Pediatrics for well child/teen visits and immunizations. A well child exam is recommended annually even if vaccines are not required that year.
6 years of age - 18 years of age
Annual Well Child Visit is recommended with growth and development checks, health screenings including vision and physical exam.
Immunizations: annual flu vaccine* (in season), Hepatitis A vaccine (if not already given), vaccines specific to the ages below.
11 years of age or entering 6th grade
Well child visit
Immunizations: TdaP, Menveo (meningococcal meningitis vaccine)
12 years of age
Well child visit
Immunizations: Gardisil 9 (HPV vaccine) 2 to 3 doses given within a 6 to 9 month period
13 years - 15years of age
Well Child Visit
Immunizations: Catch up Gardasil 9 (HPV vaccine) if not completed the 2 to 3 doses in the series
16 years
Well Child Visit
Immunizations: Menveo booster, Gardasil 9 (if not already fully immunized)
17 years and older
Well Child Visit
Immunizations: Bexsero (Meningitis B) 2 doses given a minimum of 1 month apart
College Physical
(usually done during the spring before starting college). Bring your college's health forms printed from their website
Well Child Visit including talking about transitioning to an adult physician
PPD tuberculosis skin test if required to attend your college
Immunizations: Menveo booster vaccine (if not already given), Bexsero (Meningitis B vaccine) if not completed 2 dose series, Hepatitis A vaccine (if not already immunized), a recommendation to receive the influenza vaccine before leaving for college.
* Please note: *The influenza vaccine (flu vaccine) is given annually, starting at 6 months of age. The first year your child receives the flu vaccine, in order to be optimally protected, he or she requires 2 doses given 1 month apart. Thereafter, your child will need one dose yearly. Flu vaccines are usually available annually between August and February each year, while supplies last.
